  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough and cut into rectangles.
  4. In another bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla to make the filling.
  5. Place cream cheese mixture and apple filling on half of the rectangles, then cover with the remaining rectangles. Seal the edges.
  6. Brush the tops with egg wash and cut slits to allow steam to escape.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
