  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 3/4 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  3. Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rise for 12-18 hours at room temperature.
  4. After the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  5. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  6. Place the shaped dough onto parchment paper and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven and carefully place the dough (and parchment) inside.
  8. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
