  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  7. Sprinkle a little brown sugar on top of each cookie.
