  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream until well blended.
  6. Drop dough by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven.
  9. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, use vanilla bean paste instead of extract.
