Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Scoop batter into doughnut shapes and carefully place in hot oil.
  6. Fry until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Allow to cool before icing or dusting with sugar.
