- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon red food coloring
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar and egg until smooth.
- Spread half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
- Top with the remaining brownie batter and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
