Decadent Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar and egg until smooth.
  7. Spread half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
  9. Top with the remaining brownie batter and swirl gently with a knife.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips to the brownie mixture.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for an extra treat.
