Dirt Cake Cookies are a delicious twist on traditional dirt cake, perfect for chocolate lovers.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • For an extra indulgent treat, try adding a sprinkle of additional crushed Oreos on top of the cookies before baking.
