  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. In a small saucepan, combine honey and sliced almonds. Heat until bubbly, then pour over the batter.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely before serving.
  9. For the cream, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and additional vanilla until soft peaks form.
  10. Slice the cake in half and spread the whipped cream in the middle before putting the top back on.
