  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the molasses and egg, mixing until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut shapes for your house.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm.
  8. Allow to cool completely before assembling.
