  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 pound turkey bacon
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook turkey bacon until crispy, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Add garlic, crushed tomatoes, oregano, and basil; simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, and Parmesan cheese together until well combined.
  6. In a baking dish, start layering: noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers and top with remaining mozzarella.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle extra herbs on top before serving.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a lighter option.
