  • 1 pound sweet maple sausage
  • 6 cups cubed day-old bread
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the sweet maple sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add the bread cubes to the sausage mixture and pour the egg mixture over it. Stir to combine and mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, until the casserole is set in the middle and the top is golden brown.
