One Skillet Baked Chicken Shawarma and Rice

A delicious and easy-to-make skillet meal combining tender chicken with flavorful spices and rice.

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs
  • 2 cups jasmine rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon shawarma spice blend
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the chicken thighs.
  3. Add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in shawarma spice blend, then add rice, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until rice is tender and chicken is cooked through.
