- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup red and green sprinkles
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Add the peppermint extract and mix well.
- Divide the dough in half and tint one half with food coloring.
- Roll each piece of dough into a log and twist them together.
- Slice the logs into rounds and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with red and green sprinkles.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
