A delicious and healthier alternative to traditional spaghetti alla carbonara, using turkey bacon for a lightened-up version of this classic dish.

  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and crumble.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Add garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant.
  5. Combine spaghetti, turkey bacon, and garlic in the skillet. Remove from heat.
  6. Quickly add egg and cheese mixture, tossing to coat the pasta.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper, and serve immediately.

  • For a creamier texture, add a little reserved pasta water to the mixture.
