- 1 cup pecans
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together, then pour this mixture into the bottom of a cake pan.
- Arrange pecans over the sugar mixture.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat together granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add the flour mixture alternately with milk until well combined.
- Pour the batter over the pecans in the cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then invert onto a plate.
